Scottish National Gallery
The Scottish National Gallery is situated on Princes Street, on The Mound in central Edinburgh.
It holds the largest collection of fine art in Scotland, datingfrom the Renaissance to the present day - devotional art, impressionist paintings, dramatic Scottish landscapes, sculpture and portraits.
Highlights include the Bernardo Daddi Triptych, Rubens’ Feast of Herod, Velazquez's An Old Woman Cooking Eggs, Cezanne’s Montagne Sainte Victoire and The Storm, by William McTaggart.
The gallery also features the world’s largest collection of Scottish art, and the display will be tripled once the planned redevelopment is completed. There are regular free drop-in activities for families, storytelling, gallery trails, special holiday events, and interactive touchscreens in the IT gallery.
